Behind Sahar‘s Veil: Unveiling Sofia’s Journey

Having read my previous stories from my life, I’m confident you understand the experiences I’m recounting. As an Afghan girl who spent two years under the Taliban regime with its rigid rules, I reached a point where I lost hope and questioned my reason for being. Fortunately, I can now share that I’ve recently left Afghanistan. This transition holds dual emotions for me. On one hand, I’m ecstatic to taste freedom and safety, enabling me to engage in activities for Afghan girls. On the other hand, there’s a lingering anxiety stemming from being distant from my country, friends, family, and the entire populace enduring the Taliban’s hardships.

I’ve always maintained anonymity, hence adopting the pseudonym Sahar, but in reality, I am Sofia Hamid.

I trust my stories have resonated with you, offering a glimpse into the life of an Afghan girl in Afghanistan.
